AI-AGRIFOOD 2026 Book of Abstracts showcases the latest advances in artificial intelligence for the agri-food sector

The Book of Abstracts of the International Scientific Congress on Artificial Intelligence in the Agri-Food System (AI-AGRIFOOD 2026) is now available, providing a comprehensive overview of the research presented during the international congress held in Córdoba. The publication brings together scientific contributions from researchers and innovation stakeholders working at the intersection of artificial intelligence and the agri-food sector.

The volume covers a broad range of topics that reflect the rapid evolution of digital technologies in agriculture, including artificial intelligence applications, predictive systems, robotics, smart farming, agri-food data spaces, sustainability, and technological innovation across the agri-food value chain. Together, these contributions illustrate how AI is becoming a key enabler of more efficient, resilient and sustainable food production systems.

Beyond presenting cutting-edge research, the publication highlights the growing importance of data-driven agriculture and the development of interoperable agri-food data spaces, which are expected to facilitate secure data sharing, improve decision-making and accelerate innovation throughout the agricultural ecosystem. These technologies are increasingly recognised as essential for addressing major challenges such as climate adaptation, resource efficiency, productivity and food security.

The congress was organised by the University of Córdoba, through the ENIA International Chair in Artificial Intelligence and Agriculture, in collaboration with the Andalusian Institute for Agricultural Research and Training, Fisheries, Food and Organic Production (IFAPA) and the Institute of Sustainable Agriculture (IAS-CSIC). The event aimed to establish an international scientific forum for discussing the opportunities and challenges associated with the adoption of artificial intelligence across the agri-food sector.

The ENIA International Chair represents a successful public-private collaboration bringing together the University of Córdoba and its industrial partners Hispatec, Fertinagro Biotech, xFarm Technologies and Deuser (Indra Group). The initiative is funded by the Spanish Secretary of State for Digitalisation and Artificial Intelligence and the European Union's NextGenerationEU Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan.

Available in open access, the Book of Abstracts provides a valuable resource for researchers, companies, policymakers and innovation actors interested in artificial intelligence, digital agriculture, big data, precision farming and the future of sustainable agri-food systems.
