TBD participated in webinar on Regional Views on Smart Farming

A webinar organised by the Project IOF2020 took place last 13th. of October. The topic to discuss was Regional Views on Smart Farming, and three representatives of three European projects (IoF2020, SmartAgriHubs and Traceability & Big Data S3 Partnership) shared insights on regional perspectives on smart farming.

This webinar shed light on the role of DIHs in the regional development of digital farming; and was also a good opportunity to share the contribution that interregional innovation networks, as our Traceability and Big Data S3 Partnership, can make to the digitalisation of the agrifood value chain in Europe.

José Luis Molina from Hispatec explained public administrations, agrifood sector, consumers, researcher centers and AgTech companies should collaborate to promote digitisation in the agrifood sector.

Also European Digital Innovation Hubs need to work together, emphasised Frank Berkers from TNO and involved in the SmartAgriHubs project as work package leader responsible for capacity building of more than 400 DIHs to support the digital transformation in the European digital agrifood sector.

Finally, Cecilia Gañan, international consultant and external expert of the European Comission in Regional and Urban policies, explained  the role of the Partnership on Traceability and Big Data regarding the transition from regional node to DIH.
