The RUOKARIIHIand FoodWay projects funded by the ERDF via the Council of Oulu Region organised a “Technologies to boost efficiency in the food sector” webinar on 6 May 2021. A wide range of topics were explored during the day:

Utilization of Geographic Information Systems in the food sector, Research Director Ossi Kotavaara, University of Oulu/Kerttu Saalasti Institute.
Enterprise Resource Planning systems for the food industry, CEO Kim Häggblom, Suomen Cobra Systems Oy.
Opportunities of robotics for food companies, professor Juha Röning, University of Oulu.
Automation of the food manufacturing industry, CEO Matti Tikanmäki, Probot Oy.
Automated sampling in the food industry, Chief Marketing Officer Timo Huotari, Prometec Tools Oy.
At the end of the day, Mar Catedra, Technical Coordinator of the S3P on Traceability & Big Data, presented the Thematic Partnership to the Oulu’s regional node participants. She introduced the EU’s smart specialisation strategies, our network, projects and the opportunities for companies and regions involved with Traceability & Big Data.
